Supplemental Information:
State Water Resource Department Dam Safety Divisions provide to the Army Corps of Engineers information for all dams greater than 50 acre feet storage capacity, from which a National Inventory of Dams in CD-ROM is produced for public distribution. Many states keep information on considerably more (smaller) dams than are required by the Corps. Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Wyoming electronic databases were provided in full to the ICBEMP. OR data contains dams as small as 10 feet high or 9.2 acre feet storage capacity. ID and WY include dams > 50 acre feet storage capacity or 10 feet high in ID, 20 feet high in WY. MT and NV did not have additional data in a convenient format. Thirty-seven fields were selected from each original database and given identical structures. Few adjustments were necessary. Not all fields are complete for each state. Unique record numbers were assigned for each database (st_record). The databases were joined to create one table containing 10,644 records. Of these, 9721 had associated latitudes and longitudes. These were given unique numerical identifiers (unq_id) and were spatially located in GIS. Items EIS and EIS_num were added to identify points within the EIS boundaries. Coverage was limited to Western States covered by the ICBEMP State Boundaries coverage (POLSTA) by using the Arc/Info CLIP command.

Original theme obtained from Ecotrust . Clipped to the Demis Coquille basin coverage in ArcView, reprojected into Oregon Lambert using Blue Marble Geographics ""Geographic Translator V.2"" software, imported into ArcInfo using ""Shape to Arc"" function. USACE (source) processes as follows:
