Streams, lakes and reservoirs were originally selected from the river reach files based on the 1994/96 303(d) list and saved to 303(d) layers by GIS staff of Region 10 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and GIS staff of the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). The 1998 representations are updates of the 1994/96 GIS layers. It is emphasized that the GIS layers are graphic representations of the 303(d) list. Where the 303(d) list and the GIS representation differ, the 303(d) list takes precedence. The 303(d) list document, ""Oregon's Approved 1998 Section 303(d) Decision Matrix"" issued November 1998 by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality is the document of record. Users are advised that these layers should not be used without the 303(d) list. There may be both revisions and corrections to the GIS representation without notice. Care was taken in the development of these GIS layers, but they are made available ""as is"" . There are no warranties, express or implied, including the warranty of fitness for a particular purpose, accompanying these layers. Imported downloaded *.e00 file to ARC/INFO, clipped to Basin and converted to shapefile.
Original dataset:
Line work representing streams and lines and points representing area features, lakes and reservoirs were selected from USGS 1:100,000 river reach data files for Oregon based the 303(d) list to create new GIS layers to represent the 1994/96 303(d) list. Out of the USGS river reach data sets ONLY those features on the 303(d) list appear in these layers. The attribute scheme was revised for the stream layer for the 1998 representation. Changes (additions, removals, modifications) were made to the GIS layers as the edits were done to develop the 1998 303(d) list.
