The Coastal Research Explorer is an interactive map-based tools intended to increase accessibility of research data and the visibility of current research being done along the Oregon coast.

Rather than hosting datasets, the Coastal Research Explorer acts as a location where researchers, decision-makers, and other marine and coastal stakeholders can explore research projects from a wide range of institutions and areas of practice. Researchers can also submit and update information on their own projects. Regardless of progress, publication status or data availability, researchers are encouraged to contribute. The projects can be filtered based on topic, institutions, data availability, year, project status, title, and researcher names.

The Coastal Research Explorer is maintained by the Oregon Coastal and Ocean Information Network (OCOIN) project. By providing a platform marine and coastal stakeholders to inform themselves on relevant and current research, OCOIN hopes to facilitate more informed decision-making and break down barriers to accessing science.
