About the Stonefield Beach State Park Rocky Shore Area

Description
The Stonefield Beach site is located approximately six miles south of Yachats in Lane County, Oregon. It extends from just north of Stonefield Beach State Recreation Site on the north to just south of Tokatee Kloochman State Natural Area on the south (16 miles north of Florence) and is a mixture sandy shoreline interspersed with some rocky areas.
  Designation
The beaches and rocky shores of Oregon are part of Oregon’s Ocean Shore Recreation Area.
     
Key Resources
Intertidal habitat, a small harbor seal haulout and some use by seabirds (such as Pigeon guillemots and Harlequin Ducks) on nearby cliffs and rocky intertidal areas.
  What can you do here?
Recreational uses include beachcombing, fishing from shore, tidepooling and surfboarding.

Getting to the Rocky shore at Stonefield Beach State Park

Access is via either Stonefield Beach State Recreation Site (on the northern end) or Tokatee Kloochman State Natural Area (on the southern end).

Who Owns this Site?
Submerged and submersible (intertidal) lands: Division of State Lands; beach and the some upland areas: Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) as Stonefield Beach and Tokatee Kloochman (3 parcels), with the remainder of the uplands in either US Forest Service or private ownership.
  Who Manages this Site?
Both Stonefield Beach and Tokatee Kloochman are managed by OPRD as part of the central coast (Area 3) Management Area, and the Beachside Management Unit. The beaches and rocky shores of Oregon are part of Oregon’s Ocean Shore Recreation Area, which is managed by Oregon Parks and Recreation Department.
